Ji Seok Ju has been the pastor of First United Methodist Church of Valley Center since July 1, 2015. This is his fourth pastoral appointment in the Great Plains Conference. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, a Master of Divinity from St. Paul School of Theology and a Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary. He and his wife Ara have two children Jeffrey and Jenna. “Knowing God,” “Growing in Grace,” and “Going in Love” is what God has called us to do. We invite you to come and experience genuine Christian fellowship and a foretaste the Kingdom of God.
Phoebe McCormick is the Christian Education Director at FUMCVC. She has an elementary education background and loves to teach children about the love of Jesus. Passing on the love of Christ to the youngest believers and supporting adults in their faith journey are Phoebe’s goals in life.
Mike is the Director of Music Ministries and feels that music is a wonderful way to help people praise, heal, fellowship, inspire and grow closer to God. Mike and his wife Phoebe have been blessed making wonderful memories with three wonderful daughters, three son-in-laws, and now four grandsons. His passion for the Dallas Cowboys is unmatched as proven by his saying: "God, Family and the Dallas Cowboys".
Beginning in the fall of 2020, Mike became a Youth Co-Sponsor and works primarily with the high schoolers.
Amy is our Administrative Secretary. She is here to answer any questions or listen to any suggestions you might have about FUMCVC. Amy and her husband Matt have two grown children and one grandson. Amy also facilitates the Progressive Class that meets on Monday evenings, the Book Club that meets monthly, and teaches a children’s Sunday school class.
